European Champions League Predictions (Wednesday)

9th December 2009

What an amazing Tuesday night! 2 out of 2 and both bets paying over 3.50!!!!! Exactly like I predicted, Porto won, and that paid 4.75, and Michael Owen scored a hattrick and beating Wolfsburg paying out 3.50. That is an amazing result. For those who followed my tips, they would be laughing to the bank by now.

Can we repeat that success on Wednesday? Yes I think! This is a time when the bookmakers go a bit weird because many assumptions are made and the odds are not based on team strength or form, but rather the result of qualification.

Tonight Olympiakos will face Arsenal at home. Arsenal has already qualified therefore they are at long odds to win. However I know that Arsenal do not play to lose. Wenger will have his opportunity to try out new things and use some younger players. However we all know the strength of Arsenal's youth. Therefore Arsenal away win at 4.50@BET365 is very tempting. If you feel uneasy about that, then go for Arsenal +1 at 1.80@BET365.

There are not many other games that are worth a punt. Some are too tough to call, so only one tip today. But if it pays, it will be a nice payout. :)

SUMMARY:
Olympiakos vs Arsenal: Arsenal away WIN

Good luck!

Champions League Predictions

8th December 2009

There are a few interesting games tonight. Because some teams have already qualified, the odds are skewed from the norm as the bookmakers assume they would field a weaker team and would not mind losing. But this is a good chance to pick up some profit at very high returns.

Athletico Madrid is 6 points behind FC Porto and have no chance of progressing in the Champions League. However they need to make sure Chelsea beats APOEL so that Madrid can play in the Europa League. Even though they can secure that by beating Porto, but on paper, Porto looks much stronger than Athletico. at 4.75@BET365 to win away is a scrumptious payout, or Porto +1 at 1.90 is pretty decent too. Chelsea should win against APOEL therefore regardless of this game's result, Madrid should get into the Europa league also.

Wolfsburg needs to win to make sure they progress in the Champions League, but they face the mighty Red Devils. We would assume that Manchester will field their second stringers having secured progression. However Wolfsburg would leapfrog Manchester and finish first in their group if they beat United. MU would want to hold first place, and even then, their second stringers might be strong enough to win. They would want to prove their place and fight for a first team spot. MU away win at 3.50@BET365 is a big return.

These two games are a bit of a long shot, but worth a punt.

SUMMARY:
Athletico Madrid vs FC Porto: Porto away win, Porto +1
Wolfsburg vs Manchester United: United away win

Good luck!

English League Cup (Carling Cup) Predictions

2nd December 2009

I apologize for not giving any tips for the weekend games. Thankfully we missed out on a disastrous Champions League result as Besiktas beat Manchester United. As some might have guessed, I am an Arsenal fan and it was not a happy weekend for me.

Tonight there will be two games played in the League Cup, both a clashes between Premier League teams. The first one is Manchester City vs Arsenal. As much as I want to see Arsenal progress in the League Cup, I fear this will be a tough game for them. Arsene Wenger always fields his young side (mind you his first team is already very young) in League Cup games. Mark Hughes will also give his fringe players some game time. But do not forget, City's fringe players are the likes of Santa Cruz, Petrov, Tevez, etc. With Man City at home, and Arsenal's recent lack of goals, it will be difficult for the away team to win. To be honest I think as an Arsenal fan, I would be happy with a draw. It pains me to bet against Arsenal, so I would avoid this game. But it is up to you to decide.

The other fixture seems a bit straight forward. Blackburn has been very inconsistent this season and they need to concentrate on climbing the ladder in the Premier League. Chelsea however is running hot. Even if Ancellotti decides to field a weaker team, they are still leagues above Blackburn. Chelsea away win 1.50@BET365 is a decent return.

SUMMARY:
Man City vs Arsenal : AVOID
Blackburn vs Chelsea: Chelsea away win

Good luck!

European Champions League Predictions (Tuesday)

24th November 2009

Saturday was not a good day for me. The best team in the Arsenal vs Sunderland game, in my opinion, lost. Anyway, lets put it behind us.

Most games on Tuesday are insignificant because we already know which teams will qualify. Some people may be tempted to bet on Liverpool because on paper it looks like an easy win against Debrecen is on the cards. Liverpool needs to win this game, and beat Florentina in their last game and hope that Lyon does the same tonight. Liverpool will not give up without a fight, and for them to be out of contention with a game to spare would be embarassing. However the odds are very short. 1.33@BET365 for Liverpool away win.

The most interesting group is still Group F with each team still have a chance of qualifying and 2 of them are household names of football. Barcelona face Inter Milan is the biggest clash of the week and you would think whoever wins this game will secure qualification. Rubin Kazan has pulled off some remarkable results in the Russian domestic league and also in Champions League as they face the Ukrainian leaders Dynamo Kiev. Both games are too tough to call, but I suspect at least one of them will be a draw.

Arsenal although lost to Sunderland over the weekend, they played well and should have won that game. Sunderland got a lucky bounce and basically only 1 shot on target where they scored. Arsenal will be looking to bounce back and secure qualification as the top team in their group by winning tonight. Expect Theo Walcott to get some game time. Arsenal Home win is at 1.30@BET365 but for longer odds, I feel that Arsenal -1 is still good at 1.90@BET365.

SUMMARY:
Debrecen vs Liverpool : Liverpool Away win
Arsenal vs Standard Liege : Arsenal -1 Home win

Good luck

Barclays Premier League Predictions (Saturday)

20th November 2009

I have purposely avoid the recent World Cup qualifying playoffs because it is known to be unpredictable and sometimes controversial. This time round, it was no different. Many punters would have lost a lot of money backing Ukraine, Russia and Egypt. Some may have bet on France to win at home outright.

Anyway, the EPL is back. This Saturday kicks off with a big game, Liverpool vs Man City. Liverpool's form is shaky as of late and Man City had 5 draws in a row. This game will be too hard to call although I would love to see Liverpool win at home. But the risk vs return on this game makes it not worth a punt.

Burnley has strung together some respectable results as they face the inconsistent Aston Villa. Villa is still 5th on the table, but they have dropped points from games that they should have won. However Villa away win 2.20@BET365 makes it a very lucrative bet.

Arsenal recently lost Van Persie to injury, so I would be a bit cautious betting on them. However considering his replacement (Eduardo) who is also a very capable scorer and the fact that most of their goals have come from non-striker players, they are still a force to be reckoned with. Sunderland on the other hand has cooled off from their hot start to the season. Arsenal away win 1.61@BET365 is a good value bet.

SUMMARY:
Liverpool vs Man City : AVOID
Burnley vs Villa : Villa away WIN
Sunderland vs Arsenal : Arsenal away WIN

Good luck
